Blackpool, UK — 13th November — HeliSpeed is thrilled to announce its recent approval by the UK-CAA to conduct Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training. This essential course trains pilots in teamwork, communication, and coordinated cockpit operations, skills that are vital for success within a multi-crew aircraft environment. Not only is this a key requirement for those pursuing an Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL H), Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL), or a type rating for multi-crew aircraft, but it’s also a critical step in advancing a pilot’s career.
What is MCC Training?
To begin with, MCC training is a foundational component in preparing pilots for the collaborative nature of commercial and complex cockpit operations. With HeliSpeed’s newly approved Bell 429 FNPT II MCC simulator—based at HeliSpeed’s Blackpool facility—pilots can now experience highly realistic MCC scenarios in a safe, controlled environment, ensuring they are well-equipped for real-world multi-crew settings.
“MCC training is a fundamental step in a pilot’s journey towards obtaining advanced licensing for multi-crew aircraft operations,” said Capt. Steve Judd, HeliSpeed’s Bell 429 Chief Flying Instructor. “With this approval, HeliSpeed is proud to deliver comprehensive training solutions that support pilot safety, skill, and operational excellence.”
What the Course Offers
HeliSpeed’s MCC course delivers both theoretical and practical instruction, and importantly, it is designed to be relevant across various aircraft types. The course covers several key areas, including:
- Human Factors Related Training: Developing insights into cockpit interactions and dynamics, which are crucial for multi-crew success.
- Flight Management During Multi-Crew Operations: Building essential skills for coordinating and executing multi-crew tasks effectively.
- Classroom-Based Training: Providing a strong theoretical foundation in MCC operations.
- Flight Simulation Training: Offering realistic, hands-on experience with the Bell 429 helicopter simulator to solidify MCC principles.
In compliance with Part-FCL 735 regulations in both the EU and UK, HeliSpeed’s MCC training program meets the rigorous standards necessary for effective multi-crew operation certification, ultimately helping to develop safer and more proficient pilots who are fully prepared for the demands of today’s aviation industry.
This new certification positions HeliSpeed to address the growing demand for MCC training across Europe, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a leader in innovative aviation training solutions.
